I am writing in this blog, Growing Up In Teluk Anson with the idea of sharing my past experience of my childhood to my children. They have never lived in the kind of environment that I had. They have all flown out of the nest and living their separate lives now. Hopefully, they would drop by and learn about their father’s past.
Here in my blog you will find how life was before independence (1957) and how things have change over the years.
This site is in the format of a ‘weblog’ so that each time I post new information, it will come to the top of the front page. This means that you can check back here frequently to see new updates to the information found here.
You can navigate through the site by using the menus on the sides of the page. Also don’t hesitate to follow the links you see in bold throughout each post to learn more about the events being spoken about.
I sincerely hope that you find the information I provide valuable and helpful. I'm opened to comments and suggestion.
All the very best and above all......Enjoy!

Hi Mr Hashim,
ReplyDeleteI have read your blog with interest. Rare indeed are people in Teluk Intan who would retell history and the Anson stories. I am starting a website at telukintan.org.my and plan to research and write about Teluk Anson past history. At the moment, the website was merely a month old and I am only doing what I can. Do you mind to keep in touch? My email is hoongling@hoongling.com and phone number 016-3310325 so we can together make Teluk Anson history preserved in a good way!
I used to live in Teluk Anson from 1952/3 to 1959. My Dad Johnny Milne was a Resettlement Officer during the Emergency and my mother worked for the chief of police. I went to the Convent and my brother Graham went to St. Anthony's for a short while. We lived first opposite the golf course on the corner house - behind us was the Raja Muda's house. Then the house next door, which I hear now is the District Officer's house. We also lived by the river but I hear that house has fallen into the river.
